A Player To Watch

Justin David is a player to watch.

The two-year veteran of the Northern Moose is playing inspired hockey.

The undrafted 16 year old is turning in a dominant performance thus in the NB/PEI Major U18. In 7 games he’s scored 5 goals and added 2 assists.

The Pigeon Hill, New Brunswick product saw his QMJHL draft hopes dashed when he broke his leg in January.

The Campbelltown Tigers saw David’s full potential selecting him in the 5th round, 57th overall in the 2020 Maritime Hockey League entry draft.

David has exceptional speed coupled with great instincts in all three zones.

He’s a perfect example of a player that is greatly benefiting from playing a second year at the Midget level, but there’s no question Justin David has a very bright future in the game.

Even with the leg injury last season, the gritty skilled forward had a solid rookie campaign recording 7 goals and 6 assists in 25 games.

Obviously, there were countless other rookies with better offensive numbers than him, but one always has to look beyond the stat sheet when projecting a player like David.

David is one of those undrafted players that will definitely surprise if given the opportunity at the next level.

There’s no question David is on every QMJHL teams radar and will undoubtedly get selected in this years draft.

David is relentless on pucks in all three zones and turning into a very solid two-way presence for the Northern Moose.

There’s no question Moose Head Coach Charlie LeBlanc has certainly helped David’s growth and development as a player over the last season and half.

LeBlanc’s hard nose, team first style creates an environment of accountability, but his willingness to give young players a chance to play in every situation creates room to grow.

Justin David has tremendous upside and will only continue to get better with time.

Some players fly under the radar. Some players need more time to grow.

Justin David is on a fantastic trajectory it’s just a matter of time before you will see him flourishing at the next level.
