Four of a Kind

Jeremy McKenna, Carson MacKinnon, Brodie MacArthur and Noah Dobson are truly four of a kind.

Their shared dreams of hockey glory have connected them and the game they love forever.

The fabulous foursome all grew up in the same small Summerside neighborhood.

Competition was fierce in that small community. Healthy rivalries challenged the foursomes pursuits.

Four close friends who all shared a common love and unwavering passion for the game and the dream to play on hockey’s highest stage, Hollywood couldn’t write that script.

The highly skilled foursome would battle it out on the streets, driveways and outdoor rinks, honing their skills and their will to compete.

When they all stepped on the ice together the chemistry was magical. “Winning championships together was what ultimately brought us closer,” confessed Dobson.

“It was special to build such great friendships with all those guys,” he added.

From Atom hockey, to Salzburg, Austria, to the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League Jeremy McKenna and Noah Dobson have shared similar hockey journeys. “I started playing hockey with Noah in my second year of Atom,” recalled McKenna.

McKenna knew right away his friend was a special player.

“Noah was always a really smart player with the puck, he made great passes and was really competitive,” said McKenna of his best friend.

“Noah loves the game of hockey, he’s dedicated his life to it,” McKenna added.

Competition, commitment and a relentless will to push each other has always been the driving force behind the foursomes lifelong friendship.

The bond and friendship that started in the minor hockey ranks is as strong as ever.

The game of hockey has a spectacular way of connecting people especially when they share a common bond.

These lifelong friends and neighbors have skated on the same ice in the QMJHL, while Brodie MacArthur has been tearing up the Maritime Hockey League and could potentially set a scoring record tonight.

McKinnon’s time in the QMJHL ended after four and half years with the strong two-way forward deciding to return home and play along side his long time friend and in front of his family and friends to finish out his junior career with the Western Caps.

McKenna decided to for go his first year in the professional hockey and return to the QMJHL’s Moncton Wildcats after signing with the Calgary Flames organization earlier this summer.

McKenna’s return completely changed the Cats intentions for the season.

The proud organization subsequently went all in this season in hopes of capturing a President Cup and Memorial Cup.

Dobson’s initial journey in the NHL got off to slow start with the young defender being healthy scratched in favour of more experienced players.

After capturing two straight President Cups and Memorial Cups, it was clear that Dobson was ready for the show.

As Dobson continues to find his way at hockey’s highest level, (30 games 1 goal 4 assists -3)

MacKinnon has been dominant since his return home. (13 games 18 goals 11 assists)

MacArthur has been out of this world good for the Caps having two consecutive 100 plus point seasons.

Tonight is a special night.

All four players are in action tonight in their respective leagues.

The journey continues, their dreams are still intact.

The lifelong friends and former neighbours and teammates are still chasing their unique hockey dreams.

Forever connected and driven by the dream, McKenna, MacKinnon, MacArthur and Dobson are truly four of kind.
